My Christmas Eve.

Well this is it, the final day of blogmas! I DID IT!! It has most certainly been an eye opener for me, there have been days where I didn’t want to post at all and when I had just completely forgot until late at night but nevertheless I still completed it.. I’m satisfied. It taught me most importantly that blogging daily is harder than it sounds and I’m glad I learned that before I committed to anything.

December has seen me through some great times but mostly bad times, it’s been a crappy month for me really but it can only go up from here on. I’m ready to not feel shitty again.

Here’s how I spent my Christmas eve:

First off, I had a lie in, always great as I don’t get a lot of them. When I woke up I chilled on my phone for a long while, got up, ate and got dressed. I then traveled to my Nanna and Grandad’s house with my mam and brother to pop in before tomorrow and give them gifts. We stayed and chatted for about an hour before hitting the road again to see my Aunty and Uncle to do the same thing. We watched the first Harry Potter together and caught up as we hadn’t seen each other in a good few months. Then once again we hit the road to pick up my sister from panto in Whitley Bay. Yes, she’s in it. I used to be in them as well but I gave that up to focus on school (stupid decision, I miss it). Then we came home and ate tea.

We then all got washed (not together obviously) and came out the bathroom to find that the christmas fairy had done her thing once again and delivered us christmas PJs. Yes, my mam still gets a kick out of that tradition 17 years later. We then had a family storytime which we do every year when we read ‘the night before christmas’, its pretty cute I know. Now the young ones are in bed and I’m getting ready to snuggle up and watch a christmas film before the big day!

I just want to say a massive thanks to anyone who pressed follow on my blog this year. I’ve been doing this since March and although I’ve not been very reliable, I’ve loved every second of it. And now that I’m used to the site and I know how it all works I can produce bigger and better things in 2017, BRING IT ON!

If you happen to be reading this then I wish you the happiest of Christmases and lots of festivities. Have a wonderful new year and I hope Santies’ good to you!

P.S. expect a new years post on Saturday 31st, the last day of the year, WHAT!?!?!?

20 Questions Tag.

I thought I’d do one last tag for 2016, here are the questions, enjoy: p.s- I can’t remember which blogger I got this from but these questions aren’t my own, just my answers.

1. Things you cannot live without?

The internet, good company and good entertainment.

2. Favourite makeup brand?
Probably Nars for foundation and MAC for lipstick, Urban Decay for eyes. My favourite drugstore makeup is always from Rimmel London.

3. Favourite flowers?
I don’t really have a favourite but I’m a sucker for a sunflower in the summer.

4. Favourite clothing stores?
New look and Primark for value for money, Topshop and Urban Outiftters for quality (when I can afford them). I also really like ASOS.

5. Favourite perfume?
At the moment its Lady Million by Pacco Rabanne but this changes all the time.

6. Heels or flats?
Heels for through the day but I love a great pair of heels (my feet don’t but I do).

7. Do you get good grades?
I mean I guess they aren’t bad. I get average grades, never usually below a C but I’m far away from A*s, I’m usually around a B grade in assessments.

8. Favourite colours?
Orange and pastel yellow, love a good red as well though.

9. Do you drink energy drinks?
No never, I used to when I was a dancer though.

10. Do you drink juice?
Rarely, 9 times out of 10 I drink water.

11. Do you like swimming?
I love swimming, I used to go all the time and I love it on holiday but I’m not really too comfortable being semi naked in a public pool anymore. Maybe when I’m more confident with my body I’ll start to go more.

12. Do you eat chips with a fork?
Usually no but it really depends on the situation, if its formal like at a restaurant then yes obviously.

13. What’s your favourite moisturiser?
NO7 night cream, its light but heavy enough to do the job, I steal it from my mam all the time.

14. Do you want to get married later in life?
Yes but not right now I’m far too young, even though its not illegal (which is scary, I’m getting old!)

15. Do you get mad easily?
It depends. With my siblings/ family, yes. I’m usually okay at keeping anger in with other people though.

16. Are you into ghost hunting?
I used to watch it on TV but I would never do it. I don’t believe in it but at the same time paranormal activity terrifies me more than anything on this earth.

17. Any phobias?
Bugs, spiders, being alone in the dark, paranormal stuff, violence, death, the usual haha.

18. Do you bite your nails?
I used to so bad for so long but ever since finishing year 11 I’ve stopped and now my nails are in pretty good shape.

19. Have you ever had a near death experience?
No and hopefully I never will. I’ve just finish studying these in RS and they don’t sound too great. That’s a lie some of them sounded pretty good but the same could not be said for the guy who had an experience of hell.

20.Do you drink coffee?
Not regularly. I drink iced coffee but I’m not a huge fan of hot coffee. I don’t want to be one of those people that relies on caffeine, it doesn’t really effect me like it effects others.

Those were my answers, hope you enjoyed learning something else about me. Till tomorrow,

Abby x

Wes Anderson.

In honour of my favourite director Wes Anderson’s announcement of his new feature length, I thought I’d dedicate this post to him and his amazing work. He has directed some of my favourite films such as Moonrise Kingdom and The Darjeeling Limited and I could list research about his work for days seen as I’ve been studying him in depth for 6 months now for my media coursework. Here are some screenshots from his work:

Wintery walks.

Today I thought it would be a good idea to agree to go for a walk with my family. I love walks and I love nature but oh my life it was freezing. We went to Gibside which is a National Trust place near where I live. I’ve been countless time before, I know the place like the back of my hand. It must’ve been like 2 degrees, it took me an hour to feel my hands again but it was worth it. I love being out in nature and seeing the environment, its so calming, just wish I’d wrapped up more. Here are some pictures I took:

Fenwick’s Christmas Window.

Fenwick is a store in Newcastle that sells everything imaginable, especially around Christmas. It has a never ending amount of floors that I could spend hours looking around. It’s HUGE! At Christmas time they have a little tradition that is very well known and celebrated in the North East which an annual Christmas window display. This can be any story which is told through displays and music.

This year the window was celebrating Beatrix Potter’s 150th anniversary and so had displays of all of her most recognizable characters. It’s adorable. I took plenty of pictures for you to enjoy seen as not everyone has the pleasure of having one of these displays around. I really wanted to film it but I felt that pictures would be more suited so that I could write a post about it. This is a wonderful tradition and if you are in Newcastle in the winter I couldn’t recommend popping by more. So much fun, suitable for the whole family and gives a real sense of community to those standing by. Here’s some pictures of this years (sorry bout Greggs’ cameo in the background, not much I could do about that!).

Till tomorrow,

The Importance Of Music.

Is there anything better than having a jam out to your favourite songs? As I was sat struggling to decide what to blog about today I realised that I was procrastinating so that I could listen to my playlists on Spotify. Music brings me so much happiness, music has helped me in the past and is still currently helping me through the tough times in my life, whether I’m listening to the deepest/ darkest tunes or the happiest songs in existence, it makes me feel something that only music can make you feel. The fact that music can do this to so many people around the world is truly amazing, it can form communities and build relationships. Honestly when was the last time that you felt a bit down in the dumps and so you put on some of your favourite songs, no matter what the genre, I bet it lifted your spirits by the time the first chorus played.

I use music all day everyday. I’m not sure if that’s healthy or not but its how I cope with life. I listen when I’m a little nervous on the buses, when I’m bored during the day, to relax me when I’m stressed, when I need to focus during revision and to send me off to sleep at night. My whole routine revolves around music and the great feelings it gives me. A great song will stick with me for the rest of my life, discovering a new band is like Christmas morning. I’m one of those people who doesn’t have a specific favourite genre, my everyday playlists consist of pop, rock, R & B, rap, 80’s tunes and God knows what else. If a song or band can make me dance like an idiot then its for me, I like most songs, its very rare for me to dislike a song but I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen (won’t mention specifics as I don’t want to offend).

Music can heal, music can do things to people that nothing else can. Have you ever been to a really great concert? Where everyone just forgets about the world for a few hours and just lets loose, its the most magical environment to be in, I need to go to more concerts in 2017, I didn’t go to a proper music concert this year.

I’ve been listening to a lot recently and I just thought that I’d share how important it is to me and so many other people from around the world. Props to all of the amazing artists out there who supply this magic. That’s all for today. Till tomorrow,

Lazy Days.

Do you ever have a really lazy day? Like as in you don’t brush your hair or you don’t shower, you wear disgusting clothes and makeup is a no go? Because I do all the time. I feel disgusting too, I don’t enjoy these days. I feel sweaty and completely unmotivated to do anything physical or social. I’m more than sure that a lot more people do this than I think but I really just hate those days. Its not relaxing because you spend the whole day thinking about the work you should be doing or the plans that are not being stuck to and that’s no fun. Today I was meant to do another makeup look and do a big blog post which I’ve had planned since I started blogmas. That did not get done, hense another shitty post, again I apologise for that.

I seriously look hideous on these days like unrecognisably ugly, I won’t let anyone other that my family see me like this for their own good, sometimes I feel bad for my famiky for seeing me in that state. Honestly I’m a mess. Today I had also planned on doing a heap load of school work to get it over and done with but again, none of this was done. In fact I just watched a film instead woops. I mean on the plus side its 8 days till Christmas! That’s something to motivate you.

Just wanted to share this with you today, sorry its not too great but its all I got. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll remember to plan ahead haha. Till tomorrow,

Mid December Update.

Firstly, I’ll start by referencing yesterdays post and inform you that my deadline for media was met and was done quite calmly. When I actually got to sixth form to finish it off and hand it in I was fine but this morning was a right mare. My alarm goes off at 6am so that I can leave at 7.30am and get to sixth form by 8.45ish. This morning I managed to sleep through both of my alarms and didn’t wake up until my mam came in at 7. I had to print out some of my coursework off at sixth form because the printer at home had no ink left (typical). That meant that I wanted to get the early bus to have plenty of time, that also leaving at 7.25am. I had 25 minutes to completely get ready and so makeup had to be sacrificed for the first time since I was in year 8. Safe to say I felt a little naked. But as soon as I got there I did my printing and submitted my moving image for production and it was all a doddle. NOW I HAVE TWO WEEKS OFF! It is officially Christmas time for me!

These 2 weeks are going to mark a change in me, this time I will sort my life out hahah. I am so unfit and unhealthy and unhappy at the minute and that needs to change, for me, not for anyone else. I want this and so I have to do it! Look out for the new me, coming to the world from tomorrow 🙂

I’m excited and so should you be, this is going to be a great holiday (I hope!). Enjoy your final days or week at school and have an amazing time off if you’ve already broken up! Till tomorrow,

Abby x
